Our encounter with Ray…….
Jesus it was NOT like that! He’s a happily married man, and was just two insane mongooses….ahem…yes… well this is
what happened when Tai and I went to see Ray at Collectomania5;
Tai went round my house that Friday, and slept over; we didn’t go to bed till 3 in the morning due to excitement and the
usual insomniac thing. The next day I was woken up by Tai’s
mobile going off and crawled out of bed to go bath and hair wash…….Tai stayed in bed
(Grrrrr!)
(Tai- I could stay in bed coz I don’t spend 2 hours in the bath!!)
(Shut it! It was only 45mins! Now let me tell this bit, then later u get yr say! Dammit!)
Like I was saying before Tai interrupted me rudely….
A few minutes later Tai knocked on my bathroom door telling me to hurry up or we’d miss our Train! ACK! So that’s what I
did…well tried to do… I mean come on… got to be all nice and
scrubbed and fresh and all us girls will know how long that takes…
I hurried out and got dressed and ran downstairs to see my parents and Tai waiting for me, we got in the car, but had to
make a return back to the house a minute after leaving coz I had
not taken a coat, thinking I wouldn’t need it;
(Damn mother wouldn’t take no for an answer)
(Tai- she never does!!)

We drove my mother to where she works then off to the train station,
When we got there and went to buy the tickets Tai was juggling 12 different bits of paper just to get the right change! We
both got our tickets then headed off for the right platform…the
train was leaving in 5 minutes! Aaaaaaaahhhhhh! We reached the platform but missed the train….bugger! we then spent a
good 40 minutes waiting for the next train. So picture the
scene…a half-asleep Hippie and a chain-smoking Tai waiting for the Train in the freezing cold….yeah kinda sucks.
The next train came, which we boarded
(ahhh blissful heat!)
(Tai- and no bloody smoking area!!)
and we chatted and the time past by…rather quickly, infact and I still hadn’t taken in account who we were going to see
that day…. It felt and still feels like a dream!
We arrived in London Train station and bought a muffin each (yum breakfast!)
(Tai- MUNCH! FEED ME! MR SNAFFLEBURGER!)
(Shut up! I told u it’s my turn!)
We then took the tube to another station where we quickly caught the next train on to Milton Keynes
(Tai- no bloody smoking area!!)
(I said. Shut. Up!)
We spent most of the time on that train journey drawing on Tai’s pad, reading Lenore and chatting about rubbish and
hearing Tai moan over there being no smoking area….god!
We stepped off the train and it was when Tai said to me are u ready? We’re gonna met Ray…it hit me and I was fricking
scared out of my pants! While I stood there bricking myself Tai
took no notice and sparked up on site.

Quiet happily smoking I walked over to a mapie thing Hippie following close behind. As Hippie and myself looked at this
thing we realised how far we had to walk to get to the
convention. As we were looking to other people who were going to the convention joined up with us as we made are very
long and tireing walk towards Ray. All four of us were bubbling
with excitment and couldn't wait till we got there. When we finally got to where the convention was being held we were
worried we wouldn't find where Ray was and we were right, we
spent a good 15-20mins looking for it but luckily we did find it and the four of us split up. Hippie and myself went off to find
Ray, Hippie was so scared when we saw him. She was shaking
with fright. We went and joined the queue to meet him. We paid for our stuff to be signed by him.
(Now back to Hippie for when she met Ray)
(Really Tai I wasn’t that bad…well yes…yes I was…ahem)
Tai put me in front of him saying that I had been waiting for this longer then he had
(awww bless his little heart)
Anyhow we queued up and chatted to two elderly people who had bought their daughter, they also noticed my quivering
form, but didn’t say much of it. A few seconds later I was there…
right in front of him…HIM! And my mind went blank! Oh no!
I quickly found my voice and said hi to Ray to which he also replied hi and shook my trembling hand. This reassured me
some and I began to speak with a bit more confidence to Ray, I
then asked him how things were going asking him if it was busy then mentally slapped myself on the head for asking Ray
such a dumb question, and quickly rectified myself by saying in
front of him that it was a silly question and that of coarse it was.
He then went on to tell me that it was very busy and that he only had 30 minutes for a coffee break but that the convention
was good and that it was great meeting the fans i also told him
that I had been waiting 6 years to see him to which he smiled and I told him I came all the way from Guildford and he
said oh Guildford, that far? I then told him that Jen said hi and he
oooh then I said from Jens site and he was like ooooh Jen and smiled.
I also told him my name from the forum which of course as we all know is hippie and he said ohh hippie! Ive seen some of
yr posts. I then went on to ask him what he was doing next and
he told me about his new film Skinwalkers which he said is starting filming in June, he asked me if I knew about it to which
I replied that I did. I mentioned iron fist to him and he said he’s
still waiting to see what’s happening and we also spoke about x-men 3 and he said that he hadn’t been approached yet to
which I said well its still all up in the air at the moment and that
I had been keeping a close eye on the project and also it would be great to see toad back in the third, he smiled and then
said we’ll see and then he then signed my DVD of x-men 1.5
apologizing saying the pen he chose wasn’t that good (bless).he asked how to spell my name when he got to the t in my
name asking if it was t-h then when I said t-a we both said l-i-e....
my phone went off but we both ignored it. We then posed for a picture together, me still shaking when Tai took it I asked if
we could take a second one just in case the other one doesn’t
show up and he said sure and we posed again and Tai took it I then stepped back to the side so Tai could have his turn.

I walked up to Ray and said hi and watched Hippie out of the corner of my eye as she shock in delight. I told Ray I was on
Jens site as well as he signed my DVD. Hippie butted in with
her comments bout Jens site and the drool bucket thread. He laughed and thought it was funny. He said he might check
out the site later that night. Which excited me and Hippie. After
leaving Ray with a few photos taken with him we decided to go look about the shops. We were really enjoying what we
saw. I was so happy when I saw all the swords they had and Hippie
went mad over the Darth Maul lightsaber handle replica. Which was very nice I had to say. As we were walking past some
anime stores I remebered that Hippie had got a text on her
mobile and told her. When she checked it we found out to our delight we had to go back for another signature for her
cousin. We ran back to Rays que and lined up again this time when
we got there he remembered us and we were so happy he remembered us. We asked him for the other sig and asked for a
group picture and one of him posing. (Which can be seen on
jens site) We left Ray giggerling and Hippie went into over drive with the rush she'd just got from seeing him twice within a
space of 5mins which was funny. We went up to see who else
was there for a bit until I said I wanted a fag and walked off to the nearest outside area where I started smoking and Hippie
sat inside ringing her mum on her mobile. When I came in we
decided to go to lunch at burger king when we got there she scared everyone in there by talking at a 1000 words a minute.
While I was eating she was ringing everyone on her mobile to
tell them about it. I finally got the phone off her and made her eat her lunch which she didn’t finish completely. After a bit
we got up and left Burger king.

We then went off on a quest to find a place that had or sold bags to I put the things Ray had signed in. or what I more
affectionately called them…. The Precious things!

we the went to go look for the exit, since we had nothing else to do and we had done what we came her to do, I was on
cloud nine and spent most of the 30 minutes looking for the
exit/entrance in a daze. We found the exit eventually and walked the long way back down to the train station, chatting
loudly and excitedly about the day and what Ray was like, we got
to the train station and went into the little shop in there that sold refreshments and bought a bottle of water for myself and
haribo starmix and fanta for Tai. We talked to the girl who
served us and told her that we had just been to the convention and she said that she wanted to go and that her mother
helped organize the con and that tomorrow she and her mum were
gonna sit down with the stars at the con and all have dinner together being as it would be the last day of the con itself.
We squealed with excitement for her and then left to go catch out train. We sat at the platform waiting for the train for a
good 40mins…all the time we chatted about Ray and I was trying
to process the fact that I had met him. The train soon came and we borded it and during the train journey I called my
cousin and told her what happened.
We got off at our next stop and quickly went and caught the tube, on the tube me and Tai sat next to each other facing
two skaters who we had seen earlier at the con. They were looking
at us funny….I cant blame them really, me and Tai we holding hands and leaning on each others shoulders, wearing idiot
smiles. Lol!
We then got off the tube and headed for our next destination the train terminal! When we got there we stood for just over
50 minutes waiting for the last train. When it did, we practically
almost ran to it! When we boarded Tai took it upon himself to drag me throughout the train searching for the smokers
section, and when we found it no sooner had he sat down Tai had
sparked up again

This last train ride was slow and relatively quiet, if not for the fact my mouth decided to runaway with its self again. I also
rang more family and friends in that time as well as chat to Tai.
When we finally got off the train we were exhausted and tired. But left the Train station in high spirits!

Finaly back in Guildford we made our way home slowly dragging our feet along the way. Hippie not as hyper as before was
now talking in a half normal voice. we took our time getting
from the station to home. After what seemed hours we got home from walking and feel into a heap at her place. We told
her mum all about the day as i got ready to go home for some
well earned rest. I was glad i went but it was very tireing listening to a hyper Hippie.
